Mundaring’s Great Hall officially opened by Mr Ken Wyatt this week

While the six classrooms and large open space have been utilised by the secondary students at Mundaring Christian College for the duration of 2021, the College invited special guests to mark the Official Opening of Mundaring’s Stage 2B Building Project: Great Hall and Media Labs.

On hand to celebrate were the Honorable Ken Wyatt AM, MP (Minister for Indigenous Australians, Member for Hasluck), Dr. Graeme Cross (Chief Executive Officer, ), Ms Lisa Robertshaw (Executive Officer, Capital Grants & Low-Interest Loans, AISWA), Mr Eamon Broderick, Ms Claire Sibbel and Ms Ashleigh O’Neill (TRCB Architects).

“This extension has been 10 years in the making,” announced Mr Rod McNeill (College Principal) “and it has brought us great joy to see what was on paper come to life. We want to extend a big thank you to everyone who played a part in this massive project.  We are proud of what has been achieved.”

While the concept of Low-Interest Loans (LILS) and Capital Grant Applications (CGA) may be acronyms that are only familiar to Business Managers and those in the world of educational finance, the effect of these large sums of money from both the Federal and State governments can be colossal to the learning opportunities for our students.

The new Media Labs at Mundaring Christian College allow students the latest in technology for filming, green screens for effects and spaces to learn and create. The music rooms provide the perfect atmosphere for composing and practising music. The view from the Music Room is panoramic and students have sensory delights to inspire and enhance their learning at every turn.
