While many of us were heading out of town on our recent holiday break, the men and women from the Swan Christian College’s Property Services team were busy with a refresh of College facilities.
The most interesting of these projects was a ‘mock house’ which was built to simulate a residential dwelling for the Swan Trade students who are learning how to ‘wire-up’ a house. This space can now facilitate real-life learning scenarios for students studying for a Certificate II in Electro Technologies.
Given that Term 4 can get very hot, the installation of air conditioning to the ‘P Block’ will be a welcome improvement for the students and staff who study and work in this area of the school.
The tastiest project was the complete refurbishment of the Home Economics rooms, installing new floors and stainless-steel benchtops, refreshed paint works, and upgraded cabinetry and appliances.
For those who love to see the pristine grounds of Swan Christian College in full bloom, the College now boasts an irrigation system upgrade that will improve the watering of all College ovals.
Phew! What a busy fortnight! Well done, team!
